Dark Arts Whiskey House Mizunara Finished Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Review.

Dark Arts Whiskey House Mizunara Finished Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Review.         D ark Arts Whiskey House is a brand that’s been steadily building a reputation for craftsmanship and creativity. I first encountered them back in 2024 when they sent a few bottles my way for review, and by the end of that year, I found myself hunting down nearly everything they released. Here in 2025, that trend has only grown worse… or better, depending on how you look at it. Their new Mizunara Oak Finished Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the latest addition to their core lineup, and from the looks of things, it’s aiming to make a lasting impression. The mash bill immediately stood out to me: a recipe identical to Wilderness Trail’s bourbon mash bill. While not confirmed, the similarity is intriguing, as Wilderness Trail consistently produces some exceptional whiskey. That connection alone had me excited to pop the cork on this one. Hard Truth Toasted Mizunara Finished Rye Whiskey Review.

Hard Truth Toasted Mizunara Oak Finished Rye Whiskey Review.      Hard Truth has been making waves in the rye whiskey scene, and tonight I’m diving into something bold and unusual from their lineup: a straight rye whiskey finished with toasted Mizunara oak, bottled at cask strength. Based in southern Indiana, Hard Truth has built a reputation around their sweet mash process, where fermentation tanks are completely cleaned between batches,labor-intensive, but it creates a uniquely clean and vibrant flavor profile.      Mizunara oak itself is special. Harvested only after trees reach at least 200 years of age in Japan, it imparts flavors unlike typical American or European oak. It’s a notoriously expensive wood to use, so most distilleries work with staves instead of full barrels. Seeing Hard Truth experiment with this finish had me eager to see if their craft touch could bring something truly memorable. For the full video review vi...

Shinobu Mizunara Oak Finish Blended Whisky Review.

Shinobu Mizunara Oak Finish Blended Whisky Review.      I received this spirit as a review sample from  CNS Wine & Spirits . It is important to clarify this did not impact the ratings of this review.     Now I am a of Japanese whiskey. I love the nods it gives to its Scottish roots but still brings in that subtle flavors that Japanese culture is known for. Now this release from Shinobu not only blends two types of Japanese whiskey together but then finishes it in Mizunara Oak. If you are unsure what Mizunara Oak is, basically it is Japanese Oak that is 200 years old. It tends to bring a subtle spice with a cedar and sandalwood note for me. Several Japanese whiskeys use Mizunara to add these finishes to their whiskey and I am a big fan of them. Being a 50/50 blend of grain and malt whiskey I am excited to see how well they play together  with that finish! For the full video review visit the link here!:  https://youtu.be/NStiVrXZTBw Age St...
