It is important to clarify this did not impact the ratings of this review.      There are finished whiskeys, and then there are experiences and this release firmly plants itself in the latter. World Whiskey Society has built a reputation on sourcing unique barrels and pushing boundaries, and this Awamori cask-finished rye might be one of their most adventurous yet. A 12-year MGP rye finished in a rarely seen rice-distillate cask immediately raises eyebrows.
