West Fork Whsky Co. Frenchy's French Toast Bourbon Whiskey Review.

West Fork Whsky Co. Frenchy's French Toast Bourbon Whiskey Review.

West Fork Whiskey Company, based in Westfield, Indiana, where they have two sides of distilling. Side one is their in house made West Fork Whisky Co. and Old Hamer/Hugh Hamer being the second side sourced from MGP.  Overall West Fork is transparent on what they are doing, aging times, disclosure on sourcing, and even finishing. Now, for their two year anniversary of the Westfield location they decided to have some fun with a French Toast Bourbon.

Yes, you read that right, French toast. The base is a bourbon whiskey, enhanced with natural flavors to replicate the taste of French toast. Now, I am not against something flavored, but it's also not something I grab daily. They can be really great for a sweet tooth and open the door for people not big into whiskey. Now since they are creating this on their own, I knew I had to at least taste it!

Age Statement: N/A.

ABV: 30%.

Mash bill:

Area of Distillation: Westfield, Indiana.

Appearance: Golden amber.

On the nose:
A wave of maple syrup and powdered sugar leads the charge, followed by buttery, eggy richness. Beneath the sweetness, there’s a soft bready note, almost like cinnamon toast crunch steeped in cream. It’s playful but not artificial, avoiding the overly synthetic scent that plagues many flavored whiskeys.

Taste:
The first sip is exactly as advertised—French toast in liquid form. Maple syrup dominates, accompanied by warm cinnamon and a vanilla-custard smoothness. A subtle charred note lingers in the background, evoking the crisp edges of toast cooked on a griddle. The sweetness is bold but balanced, never veering into syrupy excess. If you’ve ever wished your bourbon tasted like breakfast, this one delivers.

Finish:
Creamy vanilla and a touch of powdered sugar linger on the tongue, fading gently without any bitterness. The lower proof makes for a smooth, easy-drinking experience, leaving behind a buttery warmth that invites another sip.

Final Thoughts:
Flavored whiskey isn’t for everyone, but Frenchy's French Toast Bourbon succeeds in what it sets out to do—it tastes exactly like its namesake. It is a fun pour that could easily find a home in cocktails or dessert pairings. Purists won’t be swayed, but for those with a sweet tooth or a curiosity for unique spirits, it’s an enjoyable detour from the ordinary. pleasant, well-executed, but ultimately a niche bottle. However, its potential in creative cocktails (think French toast Old Fashioned) bumps its appeal up a notch. It may not be an everyday drinker, but it’s a playful addition to the shelf that proves whiskey doesn’t always have to take itself too seriously.

Rating: B- (Fairly Good).

Cost: $24.99 for 750ml.
